Dry items thoroughly before replacing them in the cabinets.
Instead use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe away dust and grime from the metal. A thorough cleaning helps remove odors trapped inside the cabinets. One common problem is that grease food particles and smoke can stick to the surface of the cabinets making them grimy. Leave the cabinets open for one to two hours to fully dry before replacing the contents of the cabinet.
Apply the mixture to your cabinets with a cloth or sponge or as i like to do use your hands. If your cabinets have a delicate finish make a gentler vinegar cleaning solution by adding equal parts of vinegar and warm water to the spray bottle. Dry the damp surfaces with a paper towel but note any still sticky spots that need a second attempt. If you don t have a spray bottle at home you can purchase one at most grocery stores hardware stores and general retailers.
Soak a clean cloth in the solution then wring out most of the moisture and wipe down your greasy cabinets. Clean cabinet contents. I think it s easier to work it into all the nooks and crannies this way. Wipe down dusty cans and containers with warm water and dish soap on a dampened cloth.

Throw out any items that have expired. Rinse your cloth with warm water wring out most of the moisture and use it to rinse the cabinetry. If any sticky spots remain dampen your wet cloth with undiluted white vinegar and give it another wipe down applying a bit more pressure if needed. For the grooves that are harder to reach with my fingers i like to use an old toothbrush.
I tried a steam cleaner a vinegar water and dawn solution lysol bathroom cleaner pine sol murphy s oil soap and anything else i could think of to no avail. Since the main culprit is usually grease it s important to clean kitchen cabinets with products that cut grease but don t create additional. Wipe down all inner and outer surfaces including the tops and bottoms of shelves with a soft cloth dipped in a bucket of water. Soap and paint thinner.
You don t want your time spent cleaning kitchen cabinets to leave you with rusted hardware. Rinse with clear water and dry with a soft cloth. There was so much grease built up on the kitchen cabinets which by the way are solid wood and were hand made by the lady s husband that i was using a putty knife to try and get the buildup off.
