Install Kitchen Cabinets Before Or After Tile
Camila Farah
I ve been searching the internet and all english speaking web sites state that the backsplash should be tiled after installing the kitchen cabinets both lower and upper and countertops.
Typically cabinets come before flooring. If the cabinets are already in place i ll tile around them pull the appliances out and tile under them. All you have to do is pull the kick off remove the old floor covering install the new flooring then put the kick back. In most cases given standard flooring heights you will install the cabinets before the floor covering.
If they want to change flooring at a later date you don t have to remove the cabinets. As mentioned above it creates a more seamless install of the cabinets in relation to the appliances and it s a much cleaner look. When i m building a kitchen from a complete tear out i ll install the tile first.
