Satin Polycrylic Over Painted Kitchen Cabinets

Both satin and semi gloss paints are easy to apply to cabinets when painting a kitchen.
13 20 per quart availability. Comes in matte satin semi gloss and gloss finishes. Do not apply water based polyurethane over the top of gloss latex and acrylic enamel. Can be applied with a brush or sprayed.
If you painted your cabinets with any of these paints apply a water based poly over the top to prolong the life of the finish. Water based polyurethane is well suited for low sheen flat eggshell or satin latex paint. Once the paint is dry 24 hours roll on 2 light coats of polycrylic on the top of painted shelves on the interior cabinets this seals the latex paint so you will never hear that latex sticky sound when you remove objects on the shelves. It is worth the time to do this.
Using polyacrylic and sheen changes. This sealer is not always the easiest to work with. I painted my cabinets the first time with cabinet coat from insl x. If you paint your kitchen cabinets with the correct type of paint you don t need to apply any sort of varnish sealer.

Semi gloss kitchen cabinets. New paint gives your cabinets a facelift that updates and refreshes your whole kitchen. Cleaned my cabinets with mineral spirits especially thoroughly where they have been handled over the years primed with a sw primer rolled on two coats of paint gave them a slightly aged and distressed look with rustoleum java glaze and then did a final topcoat with minwax polycrilic satin sheen. Dark colors tend to show dust and fingerprints more easily.
After i painted the inside of these cabinets i used polycrylic in satin but you can use semi gloss also on the shelves. Choose a paint finish that s easy to clean and forgiving of surface. It was ok kind of thick going on and more expensive than normal paint. Moreover the chemicals that provide the paint with sheen may prevent the varnish from adequately adhering.
A satin or higher sheen in a kitchen bath is also a good idea to keep the paint looking good. This polycrylic comes in a spray version as well as a brush on version.
