If there is greasy steam the paper towels absorb it and might stick to the top of the cabinets and waxed paper will not. A trendy mix right now is matte black with brass or gold. Any help would be much appreciated. Near the refrigerator but away from household cleaners.

Any ideas on an inexpensive way of doing this. Do not apply water based polyurethane over the top of gloss latex and acrylic enamel.
